New Delhi, April 17 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has directed agencies such as the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Railway Board and the Delhi government's education department to prepare for implementing the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026, classifying them as "bulk waste generators" (BWGs). Under the rules, effective April 1, entities generating over 100 kg of waste daily or meeting specified thresholds must ensure waste segregation and on-site processing of wet waste.
