Imphal, June 4 -- A Manipur Police commando head constable was allegedly stabbed to death during an anti-drug operation at Moijing Meena Bazar in the Thongkhong area of Thoubal district while attempting to arrest a suspect involved in drug-related activities, police said on Thursday.

The incident occurred around 8 pm on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as head constable Khoirom Suresh of the Thoubal district commando unit.

During an operation, a team of commandos from Thoubal district apprehended a suspect, Md Naobi alias Naocha (25), a resident of Moijing Leingoijin in Thoubal district, who was reportedly involved in a drug-related case.
