India, Aug. 19 -- A 35-year-old man survived for five days in floodwaters in Odisha's Bhadrak district by clinging to a palm tree before villagers spotted him and informed rescue personnel. A group of villagers travelling by boat spotted Sunanda Behera holding on to a palm tree, with water reaching up to his neck, and alerted an Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) team. "By the time our team brought him to safety, Behera was severely weakened," an ODRAF member said. Behera was taken to a hospital for treatment. His condition is reported to be critical. HTC
