VARANASI, Sept. 23 -- A man allegedly shot and killed his wife and two priests on Tuesday at his residence in Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh before locking himself up in a room with his children, police said as efforts continued to rescue the children and apprehend him.
The incident took place around 6pm when accused Arvind Singh returned home to see that a puja was underway. An argument broke out after he allegedly sought Aadhaar cards of priests.
Police said Singh allegedly took out his licenced pistol and opened fire, killing his wife Babita and two priests - Mahendra Pathak and Akhilesh Mishra. Efforts are on to rescue the children, said police. htc
