Man on donkey route to Korea stuck in Ethiopia
Rudrapur, April 10 -- A 26-year-old man from Punjab, Rohit Kumar, who had come to visit his maternal uncle in Gadarpur in Uttarakhand's US Nagar district, has allegedly been confined in Ethiopia after being sent abroad through an illegal "donkey route" by agents promising him a job in South Korea, officials said.
According to police, the miscreants demanded a ransom of Rs.50 lakh for his release and threatened to chop off his ears if the amount was not paid.
