Ludhiana, March 14 -- More than 300 cases of smart meter tampering have been detected in Ludhiana over the past 11 months, officials said, as the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) intensifies its crackdown on electricity theft.
According to enforcement officials, the cases were recorded between April 2025 and February 26, 2026, during inspection drives carried out across different operational circles in the city. Officials said the PSPCL west circle accounts for nearly 60% of the total cases, making it the most affected area in terms of smart meter manipulation.
