Lucknow, Aug. 22 -- A troubled marriage and a bitter divorce battle preceded Thursday's murder-suicide in Lucknow, in which bank employee Manas Bajpayee allegedly shot dead his estranged wife Divya Mishra and his sister before killing himself, police said. Court documents, accessed by HT, show that Divya, a relationship manager with ICICI Bank, had filed for divorce in January, alleging physical and mental cruelty, dowry harassment, abuse and threats to her life. The couple had been living separately since November 2025.
