Local body elections after HC verdict on quota: T'gana govt
Hyderabad, Oct. 24 -- The Telangana cabinet chaired by chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday decided not to go ahead with the elections to the local bodies in the state, till the state high court delivers its judgment on extending 42% reservations to the other backward classes (OBCs).
Briefing reporters after the cabinet meeting, state information and public relations minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the state government would take a call on the conduct of local body elections only after going through the judgment of the state high court on the enhanced OBC quota.
