Rohtak, April 2 -- The Bahadurgarh police in Jhajjar district on Wednesday claimed to have busted a human trafficking network that sold newborns to rich families in the National Capital and nearby cities, with the arrest of three persons, including a woman.

The gang-members have been identified as Salim and Akhil, both residents of Ghaziabad, and Beant Kaur, a resident of Muktsar in Punjab. A three-day-old newborn was also rescued, police said, adding the mastermind of the gang is on the run and teams are on the lookout for him.

Bahadurgarh deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Mayank Mishra said the gang comprises five members, of which three have been arrested and raids are on to arrest the other two.
