India, April 21 -- The Mumbai Indians arrived in Ahmedabad under pressure. Four straight defeats had dragged their campaign into uncomfortable territory, and even Tilak Varma's unbeaten hundred, which lifted them to 199/5, did not make the contest safe on its own. Against a Gujarat Titans batting line-up with enough power to threaten any chase, Mumbai still needed the perfect start with the ball.
They got it immediately. Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Sai Sudharsan off the first ball of Gujarat's innings, and that one delivery set the tone for everything that followed.
