India, June 5 -- US actor James Handy, recognized for his performances in films such as Jumanji and Top Gun: Maverick, has tragically been stabbed to death at his residence in Los Angeles, according to police reports.

Handy, 81, was discovered unconscious in the front yard of his home in Tarzana, California, on Wednesday, suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest.

Michael Gledhill, 44, the son of Handy's girlfriend, has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder, as stated by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Authorities responded to a report of "unknown trouble" after a caller contacted 911 and informed the police: "I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin."
