India, Aug. 6 -- Jadumani Singh's silver medal has sparked celebrations among Manipur's boxing fraternity, and rightly so. After Mary Kom's retirement, the state struggled to find a new face to carry forward its rich legacy.

In recent years, Manipur has gone through a turbulent period of social unrest, and sport has been pushed into the background.
