India, Sept. 13 -- Tom Tiffany, a congressman from Wisconsin and a Republican candidate for governor, reported sustaining minor injuries following an emergency landing of the plane he was aboard on Saturday night on Lake Wausau in central Wisconsin.

In a post on X, Tiffany reported that while heading home from the La Crosse County Lincoln Day Dinner in Onalaska, Wisconsin, the aircraft experienced a loss of power as it neared Wausau Downtown Airport.

Tiffany, a representative of the far-right House Freedom Caucus, secured his party's nomination for governor of Wisconsin during the primary elections, receiving strong backing from President Donald Trump.
