India, Oct. 1 -- The 22 deaths in Indore's Bhagirathpura after consuming contaminated drinking water were not caused by a single day's negligence, but were the result of a chain of failures over three decades, according to the probe report. The report was submitted before the Madhya Pradesh High Court, Indore bench in August but was made public on Wednesday. "The sewerage project laid between 1990-1995 and the water supply pipeline laid between 1999-2004 by the...Indore Development Authority was laid in violation of CPHEEO Manual. Sewer and drinking water lines were laid too close to each other...creating the permanent risk of cross-contamination," said the 112-page report.htc
