India, Aug. 5 -- On August 4, 2006, twenty years ago, IndiGo's first flight took off from New Delhi for Guwahati via Imphal. The airline was launched with the objective of making air travel in India affordable, efficient, and reliable through a low-cost, no-frills model, and the choice of sector was based not on a whim of the founders but on practicality.
