Indian charged in death of pregnant teen partner may face deportation from US
India, June 4 -- An Indian who is charged with vehicular homicide, involuntary manslaughter, and reckless homicide in the US after his Jeep killed a 17-year-old pregnant teen could be deported home, according to a report in Newsweek. The mother of the teen has backed the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) decision to deport him back to India.
Under the ICE detainer, Singh is set to remain in custody and could face deportation proceedings following the outcome of the criminal case. A jury trial is scheduled for August 17-21.
The Indian's name is Tarsem Singh, and the teen was pregnant with his baby when she was killed in the Ohio car crash.
