New Delhi, July 31 -- India's first Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) will be set up in Gwalior, the government announced on Thursday, with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Madhya Pradesh government to create a dedicated manufacturing ecosystem for the telecom sector. Spread over 350 acres, the plug-and-play zone will house telecom equipment manufacturing, data infrastructure, semiconductor production, research, design, testing, and next-generation 5G and 6G technologies within a single campus.
