Washington, Sept. 17 -- US President Donald Trump designated India - along with Pakistan, Afghanistan, China and over a dozen other countries - in a list of major drug transit or major illicit drug-producing countries in a presidential determination on Wednesday. The determination clarifies that the placement of countries does not reflect its government's efforts to counter the flow of illicit drugs or its level of cooperation with the US on the issue. Countries are placed there due to "geographic, commercial, and economic factors that allow drugs or precursor chemicals to transit or be produced".
