Chandigarh, April 2 -- Congress MP from Ambala, Varun Chaudhary on Wednesday said that he has raised the issue of Haryana's reduced share in the joint legislative assembly building at Chandigarh, in the Lok Sabha.
Chaudhary raised the issue under Rule 377 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Lok Sabha wherein the members of the House are permitted by the Speaker to raise matters of urgent public importance.
In a statement, the first-time MP said the assembly building, owned by the Union Territory of Chandigarh and shared between Punjab and Haryana in a 60:40 ratio, was currently providing Haryana with less than the 40% space the state was entitled to.
