India, Jan. 30 -- Hyundai has rolled out a software update for the Creta Electric that brings meaningful improvements to charging speeds and claimed driving range, without any hardware changes.

With the update, Hyundai has revised the claimed range figures for both battery options. The 42 kWh version now claims a range of around 420 km, up from about 390 km earlier. Meanwhile, the larger 51.4 kWh battery variant sees its claimed range increase to roughly 510 km, compared to the earlier figure of around 473 km.

The bigger highlight is the improvement in DC fast charging capability. The Creta Electric can now support charging speeds of up to 100 kW, doubling the earlier 50 kW limit. This allows the battery to charge from 10 per cent to 80...
