India, Aug. 3 -- Homeopathic doctors have threatened to stage a dharna outside Mantralaya on Tuesday, coinciding with the state cabinet meeting, to press for their long-pending demand for registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC). The protest has widened, with doctors from other AYUSH streams also extending support.

The protest, led by representatives of homeopathic doctors, comes after the Maharashtra government put on hold its decision to allow their registration with the MMC from July 27 following strong objections from bodies such as the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD).
