India, Sept. 7 -- A new study published in *The Lancet* last week noted that for people diagnosed with high blood pressure, intensive blood pressure control (defined as using medication and lifestyle changes to lower a person's systolic blood pressure to below 120 mm Hg or 130 mm Hg) can reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events, including heart attack and stroke.
