headmaster booked for killing student
Bhubaneswar, Oct. 2 -- Police on Thursday booked a headmaster of a residential school in Odisha's Koraput district for brutally assaulting and killing a Class 5 tribal student, police said.
Inspector-in-charge of Jayapur Sadar police station, Sachindra Pradhan, said police booked the headmaster of PM SHRI Upgraded High School at Gadapadar, Dilip Panda, for murder and under relevant provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
According to the complaint of the boy's father, Tina Jani, Panda had assaulted his son Ganga on September 25 and 26 and later confined him to the hostel. After learning about the assault, Jani visited the hostel on September 27, where his son narrated the incident to him. He t...
