HC directs Centre to frame rules for govt counsels' engagement
New Delhi, Dec. 18 -- The Delhi high court on Wednesday directed the Union government to frame guidelines within three months for empanelling lawyers to represent it before various authorities.
A bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela issued the direction while dealing with a petition filed by a lawyer, Vishal Sharma, challenging the Centre's September 11 decision on lawyers empanelled to represent it before the high court and Delhi courts.
From this list, two individuals who were enrolled in 2025 were appointed as government pleaders for the Delhi high court.
