HC declares Nehru Place 'no hawking, no vending zone', sets Oct 12 deadline
New Delhi, Oct. 7 -- The Delhi High Court has declared the Nehru Place District Centre a "no hawking" and "no vending" zone, and directed 90 authorised vendors operating in the area to relocate to another earmarked area by October 12.
A bench of justices Prathiba M Singh and Dinesh Bhatt, in an order dated September 28 that was released on October 5, also granted the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) liberty to take action against and remove unauthorised vendors from the area.
