PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 26 -- The Allahabad High Court has directed the forest department to issue with expedition a no objection certificate (NOC) for construction of a 1.6-km road leading to a school in Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur, attended by more than 200 children. A division bench of Chief Justice Arun Bhansali and justice Kshitij Shailendra passed the direction on Monday while hearing a suo motu PIL. The state government informed the court that Rs.1.81 crore had been sanctioned for the road, but construction of the crucial 1.6-km stretch was pending as it falls on forest land.
