Karnal, Aug. 22 -- The Haryana rice millers have announced a boycott of custom-milled rice (CMR) operations for the upcoming Kharif procurement season, which is likely to begin by the end of September.

The call was made by the anxious millers under the banner of the Haryana Rice Millers and Dealers Association, as nearly 6 lakh MT of CMR worth Rs.2800 crore is lying at rice mills across the state amid rejection by the Food Corporation of India (FCI).

The decision was taken at a meeting in Karnal on Friday, which was chaired by chairman of the association Jewel Singla and president Hansraj Singla.
