Chandigarh, Aug. 9 -- The Haryana government on Saturday appealed to power utilities employees to withdraw the strike call, stating it was committed to resolving issues raised by employees through continuous dialogue while ensuring uninterrupted power supply and safeguarding public interest.

A power utilities spokesperson said that senior government officials held a constructive meeting with representatives of the employees' unions on August 7, 2026. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Haryana Bijli Karamchari Evam Engineers Sanyukt Sangharsh Morcha, including the Haryana Power Engineers' Association, All Haryana Power Corporations Workers Union (HO, Hisar), HSEB Workers' Union and HPC SC/ST & BC Employees Union.
