India, April 18 -- In a city surrounded by skyscrapers, expressways, and rapid urbanisation, Gurugram's heritage past is often overlooked. Hidden in quiet village lanes, hilltops and forgotten corners, the city's largely undocumented history is increasingly at risk.

On World Heritage Day (April 18), the focus shifts to the urgent need of preserving the city's historical and cultural sites.
