India, March 21 -- The Gurugram police on Saturday arrested three people, including two housemaids, for allegedly sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl at the residential complex of their employer in Sector 54. The action comes less than 24 hours after the girl's father filed a petition in the Supreme Court, seeking a court-ordered probe, alleging inaction by Gurugram police in the incident.

Investigators said the woman, who also used to take care of the victim, and her husband, who is the prime accused, came from Nadia in West Bengal, while the other woman was from Etah in Uttar Pradesh.
