India, Nov. 5 -- The Gujarat government has announced that it will begin procurement of groundnut, moong, urad and soybean at Minimum Support Price (MSP) from November 9.
Talking to media persons in Gandhinagar, agriculture minister Jitu Vaghani said the decision has been taken under the guidance of chief minister Bhupendra Patel to support farmers during the current Kharif season. He said the state will ensure that farmers receive "fair and remunerative prices for their produce while also providing them with economic security."
Vaghani said the state plans to procure groundnut, soybean, urad and moong worth "more than Rs.15,000 crore" under the Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan. He said the government has taken a decision ...
