India, July 10 -- OpenAI publicly launched the GPT-5.6 on Thursday, weeks following a delay last month prompted by US government requests over security concerns posed by frontier AI models. The GPT-5.6 series has three tiers: Sol, the company's new flagship model; Terra, a mid-range version for everyday work; and Luna, a fast, low-cost option. OpenAI has also released the ChatGPT Work agentic AI tool, designed to execute tasks across different applications and files, marking the startup's latest push into workplace automation. The company said the new tool can operate continuously for hours on complex projects and translate broad user goals into completed work.
