Ghaziabad, Aug. 14 -- A UP Police sub-inspector and a home guard were killed, while six others were injured in two separate accidents on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) and National Highway-9 (NH-9) in Ghaziabad that took place late Wednesday and early Thursday, senior officers said.

The second accident, which took place around 5am on Thursday on the DME near Lal Kuan, involved a Swift carrying six people, including a police party. The car, travelling on the Ghaziabad-Meerut carriageway, collided with a tanker truck, injuring all six occupants.
