India, March 12 -- Gary Kirsten was announced as the new head coach for the Sri Lankan cricket team, reasserting himself at the top of the pecking order in world cricket in terms of the international experience he brings to the table. Across a long career playing for South Africa and coaching on the international stage, Kirsten has seen all there is to see in modern-day cricket.
