Greater Noida, Aug. 6 -- A public works department (PWD) inspection has found a prima facie "engineering fault" in the structure of the Greater Noida factory where two firefighters were killed during a firefighting operation on Tuesday. Officials declared the building unsafe and directed that construction materials be tested by a recognised lab before any final conclusion is drawn. The inspection followed the collapse of a first-floor wall and iron beam at the ILJIN Electronics unit in Ecotech-3, which killed firefighters Rohit Yadav, 32, and Teerath Pal Singh, 48, during cooling operations after a fire. PWD officials said the building should remain closed until the investigation is completed. Police said no case has been registered yet.
