Mohali, April 3 -- Police have arrested four people, including a woman, for kidnapping Kharar youth and demanding Rs.1 lakh ransom.

According to police, the case came to light when the victim, forced by the accused, called his friends asking for the ransom money, following which his friends alerted the police. The victim has been identified as Avidesh Singh Rajput, a resident of GTB Nagar in Kharar.

In his complaint, he stated that on March 30, he had gone to visit a friend in Kharar. Around 10 am, when he stepped out to a nearby market, three unidentified men picked a quarrel with him and forcibly pushed him into a red Maruti car (CH01 V 2907).
