India, Aug. 24 -- Fortnite Ranked mode gives players an added incentive beyond simply securing a victory in an individual match. Rather than being placed against opponents of widely different skill levels, the mode generally matches players with others around a similar rank.

That creates more competitive games, closer matchups and a clearer way to track improvement throughout each season.

Epic Games uses a points-based system to determine a player's progression, with matches in both Battle Royale and Zero Build contributing to their rank.
