IMPHAL, July 7 -- Two Assam Rifles personnel killed and several injured in an ambush carried out by unknown armed miscreants on Monday in Manipur's Ukhrul distict, police said, with chief minister Yumnam Khemchand condemning the killing of security forces. According to police, the incident occurred at around 1.30 pm at Nungshangohong village in Ukhrul district, around 16 km away from the district town. During the incident two Assam Rifles personnel identified as warrant officer Balwant Singh and Rifleman CM Singh who was a driver of 40 Assam Rifles Shangshak battalion, both residents of Uttrakhand, sustained bullet injuries which later succumbed to injuries.
