India, Aug. 29 -- Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Urjit Patel has been appointed as India's next executive director (ED) to the Washington-based International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a period of three years after the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cleared his name on Thursday.
Patel is back to playing a key role for the Narendra Modi government seven years after he quit RBI.
