New Delhi, Nov. 7 -- The Delhi government's food safety department has destroyed nearly 100 kilograms of food material found unfit for consumption during inspections of sweet shops, dairies and manufacturing units across the city ahead of Diwali, officials said on Friday.
The department inspected outlets in North-East, East, Shahdara, South and South-East Delhi to check food quality and hygiene standards and collected 40 samples of sweets and dairy products, the chief minister's office statement said.
After finding shortcomings in sanitation and hygiene standards, officials issued improvement notices to eight establishments.htc
