Silchar, Sept. 15 -- Five Bangladeshi students of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar in Assam have been suspended by the institute in connection with violent clashes in campus premises, the institute's director Dilip Kumar Baidya said on Sunday. The third-year students, who were studying under Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholarships, will be sent back to Bangladesh. "Since they are not allowed to attend classes, they will be sent back to their country soon," Badiya said. The suspension stemmed from an incident which occurred on September 8 when a group of Bangladeshi students attacked students from the same country.
