FIRs against 35 of 87 quashed in Sept 2025 violence in Leh
JAMMU, Aug. 21 -- The Ladakh administration, headed by lieutenant governor VK Saxena, on Thursday announced the withdrawal of first information reports (FIRs) against 25 of the 87 people booked in connection with the September 24, 2025, violence in Leh, which left four men, including a retired soldier, dead and 100 others injured.
The move came a day after representatives of the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) met officials of the ministry of home affairs to discuss demands for statehood with a legislature and constitutional guarantees under the Sixth Schedule.
