new delhi, Oct. 25 -- The Delhi Fire Service has rejected fire safety certificates for a total of seven private and government schools after inspections found serious lapses in safety infrastructure, officials said on Friday, adding that these schools were missing key components such as functional fire pumps, extinguishers, exit signages and emergency staircases. "Safety certificates will be granted only after the deficiencies are rectified," an official said. Notices have been issued to three government and four private schools.
