Dehradun, Aug. 11 -- Uttarakhand police have booked an alleged army major and 15 unidentified defence personnel for assaulting a home guard volunteer and a constable over an alleged tiff resulting from a traffic check in Chamoli district, officers said. Chamoli SP Surjeet Singh Panwar said, "We have registered an FIR in the matter, and the investigation is underway." Lt Col Chetan Singh Kabsuri, defence PRO Dehradun, said, "We have learnt about the incident through newspapers. The investigation is underway."
