Raipur, Dec. 18 -- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Soumya Chaurasia, a suspended Chhattisgarh state administrative service officer who served as deputy secretary in the chief minister's office (CMO) during the previous Congress government, in connection with the alleged liquor scam, officials said.
ED counsel Saurabh Kumar Pande said Chaurasia was arrested late on Tuesday.
According to the agency, the alleged liquor scam was orchestrated between 2019 and 2022 during the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government, causing a loss of over Rs.2,500 crore to the state exchequer. htc
