GORAKHPUR, Aug. 12 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said the youth of eastern Uttar Pradesh never lacked talent or hard work, but the earlier system failed to provide them with adequate opportunities and platforms to realise their potential.

Highlighting the region's economic growth, Adityanath said eastern UP had emerged as a rapidly developing economic region, driven largely by its young population.

Addressing a programme titled "Changing Eastern Uttar Pradesh" at the Baba Gambhir Nath auditorium in Gorakhpur, Adityanath said the youth of the region deserved opportunities rather than labels.
