Mumbai, Aug. 22 -- Startups such as Dream11, Probo, Zupee, and Nazara-backed Moonshine Technologies, which runs PokerBaazi, Games 24x7, and Mobile Premier League, are shutting down their main business of real-money online gaming, multiple people familiar with the matter said. The Rajya Sabha approved the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, banning real-money online games, on Thursday, after it was passed in the Lok Sabha a day earlier. It now requires the President's assent for it to become law.
