India, Sept. 29 -- The long-awaited Metro Line 8 project, which will provide a direct mass transit link between Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), has reached a crucial milestone. DPR has been submitted to the state government for approval and has also received clearances from both the urban development and finance departments.

The proposal is likely to come for approval before the state cabinet in the next two weeks following approvals from all the concerned departments.
