India, Aug. 25 -- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Monday announced a hike in fares for Metro services in the national capital, making travelling on the city's transport lifeline more expensive.

According to DMRC, commuters will have to pay an increased fare ranging from Rs.1 to Rs.4, depending on the distance. The fare on the Airport Express line has been hiked up to Rs.5.

"The passenger fares of the Delhi Metro services have been revised with effect from today, that is, 25th August 2025 (Monday) onwards. The increase is minimal, ranging from Rs. 1 to Rs. 4 only depending on the distance of travel (up to Rs.5 for the Airport Express Line)," DMRC said in a post on X.
