India, Sept. 30 -- Kirill Kaprizov and the Minnesota Wild have negotiated a record contract for the Russian forward.
In order to stay in Minnesota through the 2033-24 season, Kaprizov inked an eight-year, $136 million contract extension on Tuesday. The overall contract dollars and average yearly value of $17 million are the highest ever in NHL history. The Athletic reports that the agreement includes substantial signing incentives as well.
The previous record of $14 million, which was held by Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl, is surpassed by the $17 million AAV.
